Shifted Nodal Information is a library and community center that offers a new approach to learning information and interaction. Each volume represents a separate type of learning. While one node houses learning through the form of verbal communication, another holds digital information, and a different mass contains printed material. All eight entities possess their own forms of information learning, but are connected through a circulation rod which each slice hinges from.
Location: Bayview, CA
Term: Fall 2012
As a new approach to learning is embodied in this project, a distinct form symbolizes the distinct program which the building possesses. This project was inspired by a model of a kinetic machine which centered around the necessity of human interaction, and rotated about a fulcrum rod, represented by the circulation spine in the library.
