Hands-On Work
This page is a compilation of multiple works that have utilized hands-on work. In many cases, these projects have been fabricated in a wood or metal shop. In every scenario, new procedures were researched and learned to create the desired affect.

Parasite
The project on the right and above was a first year human-scale project which sought to latch onto the architecture building on campus. Wooden 2x4 studs, an abundant commodity, were used woven between the balusters of the hand rail to guide circulation through the given area, while steel rods and hand-stiched fabric emerged towards the light to soften and emphasis this interaction.

By Hand
Whether the work is for conceptual development, design process, or simply to create a piece of art, it is important to use your hands on a regular basis and create items. Drawing is a great way to represent objects and is the best way to communicate ideas across to others.

Design Village
This project is a temporary living structure. Several weeks in fabrication, the shelter had to be carried two miles up a hill. The individual parts were designed to both be carried by and create a wagon to roll up the hill. With a few hours of on site assembly, this structure made of mostly scraps and recycled materials can sleep 10 full sized adults.
