Modulated Hyperboloid
Location: San Luis Obispo, CA
Term: Spring 2013
Using parametric design can be influential in the conceptual development of a project, or in articulating entities down the road: such as a cladding system. This project was an installation piece inside the courtyard of the architecture building. The volume is a hyperboloid that has been separated into modules using a grasshopper script. The modules change in size and concavity based upon proximity to an established vantage point, therefore controlling light and sight to the desired areas. Each module was numbered to verify its correct placement in the system.
